New Belgium 12 Pack Poems

(What is a 12 pack poem? Click here to find out.)

A case of New Belgium Variety pack.
New Belgium’s Folly Pack

Fat Tire – 5.2% – Amber Ale

What’s left to be said about the iconic Fat Tire amber? It’s a beautiful malt forward beer, with bready, caramel notes, that leaves a syrupy lacing behind on the tongue.

‘Fat Tire.
A biscuity
bready, sweet amber ale,
a beer brewed to ease my aching
hangover.’

Blue Paddle – 4.8% –  Pilsner

With this I got a corn/grainy/wheat taste that ended with a subtle spicy hop finish, nothing too crazy. But simplicity can be a beauty all on its own.

‘Golden
sweet, tastes of spring
and wet sun pilsner, an
easy idle lazy river
brew beer.’

Cherry Almond Ale – 5.8% – Fruit/Brown Ale

I thought I was going to hate this at first, expecting a gimmicky flavor that I’ve noticed in other beers where it tastes like cherry flavored cough syrup is added at the end. Thankfully, I was wrong. This was delicious, although I bet it would make a better winter ale, as opposed to spring. It’s rich, with toffee, caramel, and chocolate flavors and a sweet nutty finish. I think it was my favorite in the pack.

‘Cherry
and chocolate
Indulging ale, rich with
toasted toffee caramel coffee
comfort.’

Voodoo Ranger 8 Hop – 5.5% – APA

(RIP Ranger) This APA starts with citrus orange flavor and other tropical fruits – like mango and peach. It has a slick resiny texture and finishes with a balanced bready malt sweetness.

‘8 hop
ale adventure.
Full of floral forest
flavor, the garden of Eden
pale ale.’
