Boxcar Reuben Pizza

Sandwich-inspired pizza is one of America’s greatest contributions to the culinary world. It sits in the pantheon of great ideas like the Coke Freestyle machine and the craft beer revival movement.

Reuben Pizza Slice

You’ve got the greats like the cheeseburger pizza, the poor boy pizza, the chicken club pizzabeef on weck pizza, and of course, the Reuben.

We’ve also got pizza sandwiches, which are sandwiches with pizza-inspired ingredients. Not to be confused with what we have here, which is a sandwich-inspired pizza. All of which leads you to the question, what is food even?

Anyway, the point is you can put just about anything on pizza these days (see my Chickpea & Chicken pizza). So you can’t really go wrong when you take the tangy and savory ingredients of one of the finest sandwiches to grace our green earth and bake them on a pizza.
