New Glarus — Bubbler — 4% — Hefeweiss

Smooth and creamy banana flavor matched with spicy clove, and that hint of sweet bubblegum found in a hefeweizen.

‘Only
in Wisconsin
a beer like this. Bubblers
pour banana hefes, my on-
-ly wish.

Goose Island — Fulton Wood Series — 5% — Sparkling Ale

It’s very sweet, with dominant fruit flavors of citrus, apricot and other tart stone fruit flavors. It’s a lot like sweet sparkling wine. Weird. But it’s crisp and kinda refreshing.

‘Sparkling
ale I hope you
don’t hurt my head like a
bottle or two of andres champ-
-agne does.’

Lakefront Brewing — Riverwest Stein — 5.68% — Lager

Malty sweet lager with heavy biscuit, bready, caramel flavor.

‘Lakefront
summery days
spent singing drinking in
Milwaukee my Midwestern
Paris.’

Squatters — Bumpercrop Ale — 5.5% — Spiced Ale

Very very floral flavor, with dominant lavender. It taste like it smells. Seriously. Lot’s of lavender flavor. But there’s also some grain and cracker malt notes that pairs well with the honey.

‘fresh flowers
ain’t got nothing
no no nothing on you
honey ale lavender really
suits you.’

Pecatonica Beer Co. — IPA — 6% — American IPA

Sweet & hoppy. A lot of piney hops and earthiness. Lots of resin too. Leaves a sticky sweet lacing on the tongue.

‘Sticky
pine trees and this
Pecatonica beer
bittersweet bite I write by camp
fire light.’

Ale Asylum — Tears of My Enemies — 5.9% — APA

Big bitter and zesty citrus flavors with some other stone fruit flavors of grapefruit, apricot and peach. Gives it a nice juicyness that’s matched with a nutty caramel malt sweetness.

‘I long
for beers this good
and holy glory road
drinking the bitter beers of my
enemies.’
