(What is a 12 pack poem? Click here to find out.)
Before we get into it, I just want to say how awesome the Chicago-based Revolution Brewing is. The whole League of Heroes project, from the variety pack, the costume parties, and the comic books, is absolutely perfect. They really know how to bring a beer to life. And their passion for beer and storytelling really shine through here.
Anyway, on to the poems.
Amarillo Hero – 7.2% – American IPA
This hero had a strong floral/hoppy flavor, with dominant citrus and earthy hop notes. Overall, it achieves a nice balance of sweetness and floral hops that ends with a dry bitter finish of the amarillo hop.
‘Hero
Amarillo.
Desert golden sun sand,
sticky earth grown floral citrus
bitter.’
Galaxy Hero – 7% – American IPA
A lot lighter in color than the Amarillo, with a nice pungent, wet grass smell. It was crisp, hoppy, and had hints of both tropical fruit, spicy hopped bitterness, and a tiny amount of malty sweetness.
‘Bitter
hopped Galaxy
Hero, crisp starlight bite
soars to stone fruit hidden within
a hop.’
Anti-Hero – 6.5% – American IPA
Bitter and sweet. Dominant bitter fruit flavor with hints of pine and a sticky resin taste.
‘OG
Anti-Hero,
Bold, bitter, bastard, beer.
Your hopped up name screams Chicago.
Don’t change.’
Mosaic Hero – 7.5% – American IPA
I love mosaic hopped beers, so I saved the best for last. It was a blast of floral, fruit forward flavor. It was sweet, with some spicy bitterness, but overall very refreshing with an explosive, juicy flavor.
‘Mosaic,
liquid mana,
a heavenly hopped
hero. Adventure in a 12
ounce can.’
