Simple Shredded Cabbage Salad 

One of the best things I had in Croatia was a simple shredded cabbage salad.

I’m not even kidding. It was so good. Here is a picture me eating it. Look how happy I am (you can’t even see the cabbage, but you get the idea).

Have you ever seen someone that happy eating a cabbage salad? That’s the magic of cabbage baby (again, the liter of wine might have factored into this).

This recipe tries to recapture that Croatian cabbage magic.

Time You Need

  • ~10 minutes prep
  • ~30 minutes marinating

What You Need

  • ½ head of shredded green cabbage
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves of minced garlic
  • 2 tsp of freshly ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • *shredded Asiago or Parmesan (optional)

What You Do

  • In a large bowl, add shredded cabbage and the rest of your ingredients. Mix this baby up like your life depended on it.
  • Let it rest in the fridge for about half an hour.
  • Serve and enjoy!
