How many foods can we turn into jalapeno poppers?

All of them. Poppers are my favorite Sunday hangover cheat food. My favorite drunk dive bar food. And apparently, my favorite food to turn other foods into. So far I’ve attempted:

Now let’s add jalapeno popper hot dogs to that list. It was only a matter of time.

Time You Need

  • ~15 minutes prep
  • ~15 minutes cooking
  • Yields: 4 hot dogs

What You Need

  • 4 hot dogs
  • 4 jalapenos
  • ~2/3 cup room temp cream cheese (more if desired)
  • hot dog buns
  • 2 tsp Garlic powder
  • *any other desired hot dog condiments

What You Do

  • Wash jalapeno. Cut each pepper into halves and remove seeds. For less spicy peppers, soak them in a bowl of cold water for five minutes.
  • Grill or cook hot dogs and jalapeno over a skillet. Cook for about 8 minutes, until you get good grill marks on the hot dogs and the jalapenos get soft.
  • Mix the garlic powder with the room temp cream cheese.
  • Once the hot dogs and jalapeno are cooked, remove from heat. Take the cream cheese and spread liberally over the hot dog. Then take two halves of jalapeno and covered the hot dog.
  • Serve on a toasted bun with any desired condiments!
